The Honey Trap carries readers to an exotic pearl-shaped island, eighteen miles off the southeast coast of India. Now called Sri Lanka, the isle was formerly known as Ceylon, and its history, culture, and people are crucial to this intriguing novel.
Set in the 1960's, the story centers on Stevie Cartright, a twenty-six-year-old reporter who joins the US Foreign Service after she learns her fiancé is having an affair with her best friend. Her first assignment sends her to Ceylon, where she hopes to find excitement, adventure, and romance.
As Stevie struggles to adapt to life in Ceylon, her innate curiosity leads her into a quagmire of passion and secrets, and she uncovers a sinister plot that would set the entire country into chaos. But to get to the truth and unmask the subversive forces, Stevie must survive numerous dangers, including the seductive charms of a mysterious man whose affections could prove fatal.
Sure to appeal to fans of strong, independent females in fiction, The Honey Trap is a new kind of coming-of-age drama about a grown woman's journey to discover her own strength and power by opening her mind and heart to the world around her.
