The Grumpy Wizard and the Cosmic Guardian

On Halloween Eve, ten-year-old Ray thinks the strangest thing he'll see is a shooting star. Then a mysterious spacecraft appears in the night sky-and his ordinary world turns upside down.
Before long, Ray is caught between two unlikely companions: Crumblewick, a grumpy old wizard who trusts magic far more than anything mechanical, and Orin, a mysterious half-alien, half-robot Cosmic Guardian with technology beyond anything Ray has ever imagined.

Magic and technology are about to collide.
Together, the unlikely trio are swept into an adventure filled with haunted places, ghosts, witches, strange creatures, mysterious riders and dangerous enemies. At the heart of it all lies an ancient power-and the legendary Sword of First Light.
But when darkness closes in and Ray finds himself at the centre of a battle far bigger than he ever expected, courage may prove more powerful than either spells or machines.
The Grumpy Wizard and the Cosmic Guardian is a fast-paced, funny and spooky adventure combining Halloween magic, science fiction, friendship and fantasy. Perfect for young readers who enjoy wizards, robots, aliens, monsters, mysteries and big adventures.
Magic is grumpy. Technology is cosmic. And Ray is stuck right in the middle.
