Rusty is mad, mad as hell and he has every right to be. Not only did he retire under embarrassing circumstances from his job as a famous detective but he now faces a crippling disease; all because of the ruthless actions of Spike, a jealous colleague. Now he is determined to make Spike pay and give him a taste of his own medicine. His plans for revenge take back seat after he is confined to a wheelchair. While in confinement, he is visited by neighbors and finds himself caught up in their lives. He recovers and almost misses an opportunity to redeem himself. His life seems to be slowly headed uphill and even love is in the air. When he least expects it, he comes face to face with Spike and learns that life comes full circle. Spike wants forgiveness and Rusty has to decide whether he can let go of an old hurt that he had been carrying around for two years.
