Francis Oliver Paine is a young man from a family of clergymen, fresh out of seminary and ready to take on his first assignment as minister of St. Matthew Episcopal Church in his hometown of Green Grove. But is he ready? How can he, a young man with more questions than answers, lead a church of two hundred people?Dean Bishop considers himself to be agnostic; he needs proof to believe in God and has yet to find anyone who can offer that to him. Once he reveals to his family that he is gay, his life suddenly falls apart: rejected by his family, dumped by his boyfriend, and fired from his job. Suddenly he is all alone with nothing but a few personal belongings and an ancient car. No home, no job, no boyfriend, and no family. What is he to do, and where is he to go?These two young men come from different backgrounds, but they may find that they have more in common than they realize. Will their differences and self-doubts keep them apart or will they allow themselves to find true love?
