It is the night before the first Christmas.
We are in a bustling city, with people hurrying through the crowded streets. There is an air of urgency here, a feeling of being pushed forward. So let's keep moving.
You know about the hotel situation, no room at the inn and all that, so let's head straight to the infamous stable. You know the one.
From that stable, where a very pregnant woman and her man are currently waiting out the night, comes a blood curdling scream. The sobs that follow are drowned out by a sort of cruel braying from one of the animals.
It goes on like this for hours. Screaming, talking, adjusting, crying and waiting. Animals watch uninterested, their rectangle pupils staring through it all. The two, that are soon to see their third, are completely alone; away from their home and family in a shack that smells of animal waste and feed.
This is how my God came for me. This is how he came for you too.
This is the story of the night before the first Christmas.
