Cradle Of Filth, formed in 1991 in the heart of the ancient witchcraft county of Suffolk, England, have fought their way through 30 years of controversy to their current position as one of the world's most successful metal bands. Influenced by the cold, anti-authoritarian hatred of black metal, and leavened with the raw energy of classic thrash, Cradle's music is accompanied by a lyrical message and artistic ethos that is as vivid as it is uncompromising - part gothic horror, part vampiric bloodthirst, part sexual hedonism.

Cradle's founder, singer, lyricist and chief architect Dani Filth (né Davey), tells his story in THE FILTH for the very first time. His autobiography, a fascinating account of a life in the occult tradition of old England, embraces the reader and takes them into a rich, sensual milieu that acknowledges no limits. Dani explores the macabre lore that informed his childhood, the brushes with hostile contemporaries, his stints in the projects Devilment and Temple Of The Black Moon, and his film and TV career.
