One humid evening in 1964, Walt Heaps the farm boy not only witnessed a murder, but held the dying man's hand, reciting a prayer, until help arrived. Walt met and married the girl of his dreams, Kathy, and they had two amazing children. A number of houses and a number of jobs later, Walt found himself working with his father as a carpenter's helper to build a new house for the President of Forest Hill State Bank.
