The war is fought in the homes, streets, canyons, mountain tops, and the prison. In the midst of this mayhem emerge Satya, the widow of a prison psychiatrist and Haney, a onetime intellectual AV operative, who refuse to kill and are willing to die without a fight. The iconoclastic novel asserts that man is essentially a violent creature; that all wars are between evil and evil; that whoever wins just declares himself to be good; that those who try to promote peace are promptly crushed by the warmongers. Yet, a case is made for non-violence, because it is the only hope for the mankind. Written by a prison psychologist, the novel is truthful although fictionalized.
