You probably look in the mirror every day. You wash your face, brush your hair, and put your best foot forward, right? But who would you see staring back at you, if the health of your soul was what you saw on the outside? Would you even recognize yourself? When you study your skin, would you see that your sins have faded away your color into gray? Are your eyes sunken in and tired, from all the hate you hold inside? Your heart might even sink when you realize that you look more dead than you do alive.
That's what Gail can see. The world calls her gift a defect. They label anyone like her, or any children born with the mysterious markings, as defective. She was born into a world that tried to strip God from existence. Yet he still whispered for her. Her life crumbled as a child, living in a world ran by a broken and dark society, but he still held her. And even though she strayed far away from the light of a God she never knew, he still loved her.
The Defective invites you to join Gail on her transformative journey from a young girl who lives to serve herself, to a woman who yearns to serve her loving and forgiving God. That's ultimately the question we're all faced with. Will you choose yourself, or your loving creator?
This action-filled Christian fantasy novel will lead you through the ups and downs of humanity and the challenges we create. Along with Gail, it will throw you into the unexpected, and often, reveal to you the darkened lens we've come to see the world through. But through love and forgiveness, she reluctantly decides to lay down her hurt and all the mistakes she cannot change. If you let her, she'll inspire you and lead you to answer the same question that she's struggled to understand. How will you answer God's call to be the light?
