The child that sees nature describe some natural features from which a child can see it and read meaning to its existence. The child will wake up and notice that the sun shines and that is all. The book take the child around the sun making the child to see what are in the sun. The author describes the degree of hotness of the sun .the impact of its high temperature and what it can creates. The book unfold the value of the sun to the microbes to the moon man and other things around. The author uses a simple language to the understanding of the child. The first chapter of the book is taking about the non-living things. Objects in the universe. He further describes the mysteries that make the earth to seat on its axis without falling out, despite that, it's is hanging on the space.
In chapter two he opened the air as a child will open a book to read. He then pencil down the component of the air in a simple and poetic form. He makes the child to understand that the speed of the air changes the name of the air automatically. He enumerated the importance of rock and crowning it by the formation. Making jest of the strong rock. He said, The strong solid rock originated from soft substance that is as soft as 'African palp' .Though rock and mountain has similar features in term of formations but the author differentiated the two with a song that entice a child .He unfolded some values which a child cannot know unless he is informed. The child that see nature can give such information accurately. He mentioned types of cloud and their formation. He identified cloud with their various formation. He praised the rain 'your manifestation imprisoned famine'.in order words with abundant rain the plants will rejoice and there will be abundant harvest for the farmers. The agricultural product will be in abundant giving rise to surplus of food to the community and the nation The writer erodes imaginations and guesses in the mind of the child, who has it in mind that desert is so dry and there is no water there. In the desert the author clear that doubts and explained the formation of oasis and biological ecosystem that are found around the oasis. Greg takes the child to the word of life science. He allows the child to see seed not only as food to man but source of life to a young plant. He listed what are the content of a seed and makes the child to see it as the source of food to the foliage plants. He technically introduces the child to ecosystem by showing him a pasture which is a source of food to the herbivores that are the primary consumers in an ecosystem. In this uncommon book but simple at first sight he enumerated some biological terms that associated with feeding and he vividly give interpretation of their meanings to the lowest terms. In the book the child will learn that the gestation period of mammals are not the same and he will be shocked to notice that some are above two years. He enumerated the character associated with animals and makes the child to see how he can gain experience from these behaviours and excel in real life. This insight will help to shape the psychomotor and cognitive domain of a child. There are uncountable motivational statements that originates from what the child can see around him which the writer brought to the lime light in the life of the child. In chapter eight to chapter ten. Greg teaches child upbringing to the parents of a child and further enhances the child to see reasons why parents must be listened to respected and be obeyed.
