There are six hens for six brothers, or so the Chickabee roosters think after meeting the Frog Creek hens at a barn dance. On a whim, the free ranging Chickabee roosters hop into their '68 Chickster and make a midnight run to rescue the hens from their cooped up life. They quickly learn, though, that they are in quite a kerfuffle. It's not going to be as easy as they thought to woo their feathered gals. Although the roos were well meaning, they have some lessons to learn first. Come and cluckle with these roos, hens, foresty friends, and the Frog Creek boys as they learn valuable lessons about standing up for yourself, digging your spurs in when your conscience tells you it's right, and treating others the way you want to be treated. This 7 chapter long story is perfect for children who love sweet and simple stories about farm life, loveable characters and humor such as in books like Little Hous On the Prairie and Farmer Boy. It makes a sweet read-aloud for 5 to 8 year olds. Within three hours your 9 to 12 year olds can enjoy reading this story to themselves, and parents are getting a cluckle out of it too.
