The Bride of Sicily is a dramatic poem written by Harriet Downing in 1830. The story is set in Sicily and revolves around the love story of a young couple, Adalberto and Rosalind. Adalberto is a nobleman who falls in love with Rosalind, a commoner. However, their love is challenged by the jealousy of Adalberto's sister, Eudora, who is also in love with him. Eudora plots against Rosalind and tries to separate the two lovers. The story takes a dramatic turn when Adalberto is accused of treason and sentenced to death. Rosalind, determined to save her lover, takes it upon herself to prove his innocence. The Bride of Sicily is a tale of love, jealousy, betrayal, and sacrifice, written in poetic form. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
