We do not have the Book of Lehi. The loss of the 116 pages will one day be restored. The portion of the Book of Nephi that concerned Lehi is taken out and edited in the first person. It is hoped that the members of The LDS Church will come out of condemnation and magnify their study of the Book of Mormon. This version reveals certain facts contrary to the traditional understanding; such as that Nephi was born by the Red Sea after Lehi left Jerusalem and that the timing of their journeys is different. Lehi doesn't seem to be one for explaining the dealings of God. He simply tells of his prophesies and revelations. This book is of value for an understanding of the principle of faith and his Tree of Life vision and his blessings to his sons.
