There's Blood on the City of Roses, A lunatic that tears apart and eats his kills has plagued Portland. The police speculate he uses a dog to attack and maul his victims, but they haven't picked up any clue to who it might be. Kathy Duggan knows who it is . . . or what it is. Working late at night, she sees her co-worker tortured and terrified before being ripped to pieces by what her mind can't quite grasp, but has to accept . . . a werewolf. She can't go to the police. They would send her to the Oregon State Hospital. All she has is her family to help her. Her sisters Rachel and Cindy want her to get out of Portland, but Kathy is racked with guilt. She stood frozen at the office window and did nothing to help Deirdre Logan. She at least knows what she's up against and will try to find out the monster's human form. Greg Harding shows up not long after the murder and she seems to have at least a good romance blossoming. She could use something good among all that's happening at work and the research she's doing on how to defeat her foe. When she finds that the werewolf hasn't forgotten her, everyone is suspect and she begins to wonder if Greg's appearance wasn't just a little too coincidental. She'll have to trust him and he might just help her find the killer that stalks the streets of Downtown Portland, rather than the great forests of Oregon. Time is running out and the Mutilation Murderer is bending the rules. Can Kathy stay just one step ahead of him?
