Why does God entrust wealth to certain people-and what does He expect them to do with it?
For years, Kingdom entrepreneurship has been modeled after prosperity, influence, and expansion. But Scripture reveals a deeper, more sobering standard-one that appears not in seasons of abundance, but in moments of vulnerability, when what God values most is at risk.
In The Arimathean Assignment: Why God Entrusts Wealth to Protect What Is Most Sacred, Dr. John Thurber reexamines Kingdom wealth through the overlooked yet pivotal figure of Joseph of Arimathea-a wealthy businessman who stepped forward at the most critical moment in history to protect what was most sacred to God.
This book challenges the narrative that Kingdom success is measured by accumulation and image. Instead, it unveils a royal protocol for kings and priests: wealth as covenant stewardship, strategically positioned to respond when the Body of Christ is under threat.
Through biblical insight, prophetic teaching, and Spirit-led reflection, Dr. Thurber reframes entrepreneurship as an assignment of trust-one that demands courage, discernment, and timely obedience. Readers will discover why God redirects Kingdom role models from wealth acquisition to Christ protection, and how Kingdom prosperity prepares believers to act as first responders in moments of crisis within the Body of Christ, revealing the compassion, power, deliverance, salvation, and reality of God and His Kingdom to the world.
The Arimathean Assignment is a call to business leaders, entrepreneurs, and stewards of influence who know their resources were never meant for comfort alone-but for manifested Kingdom responsibility when it matters most.
