This vibrant collection of Welsh myth, legend, and folk history retells ten famous stories for ages 7-11.

A colorful collection of 10 famous stories from the rich heritage of Welsh myth, legend and folk history, passed down through the centuries and retold to appeal to a wide audience. Includes the folk tales of the lost city of Cantre'r Gwaelod, star-crossed lovers Rhys and Meinir, the 'Welsh Robin Hood' Twm Siôn Cati, the royal power struggles of Branwen and Bendigeidfran and Maxen's Dream, plus stories from Welsh history about the bloodthirsty Red Bandits of Mawddwy and the popular uprisings involving Rebecca's Daughters and Dic Penderyn, and more. The stories are told with great energy and conviction, wonderfully matched by Lleucu Gwenllian's evocative illustrations. A great starting point for introducing children (and adults!) to these important stories from across Wales. Illustrated in black and white. Ages 7-11.
