They say the first victim was shopping at Home Depot when he got a sudden hankering for a bottle of Drano. The second took a stroll across a busy four lane highway. One after the other, the citizens of Midtowne are being plagued by sudden and unexplained suicides in 1987, Virginia.
At the same time, seventeen-year-old Charlie Stewart is being stalked by a horde of spirits. He doesn't know why but tries to ignore them and move on with his life which involves crashing underground punk shows, idolizing Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, and keeping his werewolf lab partner from terrorizing their town during a full moon-you know, normal teenage stuff.
But after he witnesses one of the suicides first hand, he learns why the spirits have decided to haunt him. With the help of his new punk rock bandmates, Charlie must use his supernatural powers to put a stop to things before one of them becomes the next victim.
