Tapestry is a novel written by Alfred de Champeaux and first published in 1887. The story is set in 16th century France and revolves around the life of a young noblewoman named Louise de Keroual. Louise is forced into a loveless marriage with a wealthy merchant, but she falls in love with a handsome and charismatic young man named Philippe de Morfontaine. The two of them embark on a passionate affair, but their relationship is threatened by the political turmoil of the time, including the religious wars between the Catholics and Protestants. As Louise struggles to navigate the dangerous and complex world of court politics, she must also confront her own desires and the consequences of her actions. The novel is a vivid portrait of life in Renaissance France, with richly drawn characters and a compelling plot that explores themes of love, betrayal, and political intrigue. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
