Then one night, something surprising happens: Moon Rabbit slides down a moonbeam into her room and steals her family's rice!
Armed with her Moon pendant, her beloved plushie Lammie, and a whole lot of courage, Shelly follows him into a breathtaking world on the Moon where her nightmares come to life.

Young Readers Are Saying...
I like how the Tiger became nice... I was surprised by why the Moon Gobbler was hungry. It was bad that Shelly was made fun of, but she learned to stand up for herself at the end. Is this already a movie? It should be.
-Escher C., age 7
I think that Shelly's bond with her mother was really heartwarming because they clearly cared for each other and enjoyed spending time with one another by telling stories.
-Michelle C., age 10
This book is a great 'mirror' for Asian American kids who might be dealing with racism in their own lives, and also a great 'window' for kids who might not experience this daily.
-Hanalee A., age 14
