True Reports of Ghost Encounters recounts fifteen historical cases drawn from letters, family papers, newspapers, court testimony, published witness statements, technical reports, institutional records, and recorded interviews.
These are not recent internet stories. The book follows reports spanning more than three centuries, beginning in seventeenth-century England and ending with cases from the late twentieth century.

The Ghosts of Willington Mill, England, during the 1830s and 1840s
The Great Amherst Mystery, Nova Scotia, 1878 to 1879
The Veiled Woman of Cheltenham, England, 1882 to 1886
The Greenbrier Ghost, West Virginia, 1897
The Ghosts of the Petit Trianon at Versailles, France, 1901
Borley Rectory, England, with reports spanning from the 1860s through the 1930s
Shirley Hitchings and the Battersea Poltergeist, London, beginning in 1956
The Seaford Poltergeist, Long Island, 1958
The Rosenheim Poltergeist, West Germany, 1967

Each chapter tells the case from the beginning. It introduces the people and location, follows the first reported incident, reconstructs what witnesses said they saw or heard, and describes how relatives, neighbors, clergy members, police officers, journalists, engineers, and investigators responded.
Readers will encounter families who heard footsteps moving through locked or empty houses, witnesses who repeatedly saw humanlike figures, a mother who testified that her dead daughter appeared to her, and households in which objects reportedly moved without a visible hand. Other cases involve unexplained voices, violent knocking, ringing servant bells, electrical failures, rotating lights, flying objects, and messages attributed to unseen presences.
This is not a collection of abstract essays about whether ghosts exist. The main focus is what happened inside the houses, what the people involved claimed to experience, how the events developed, and what was documented at the time or preserved afterward.
No conversations, private thoughts, or dramatic scenes have been invented. Later legends are separated from earlier testimony, while known tricks, contradictions, disputed claims, and possible ordinary explanations are included rather than concealed.
The reports are historically real because identifiable people made them and their statements were preserved. That does not prove that every experience had a supernatural cause. It means that real families, witnesses, police officers, journalists, technicians, and investigators left accounts of events they could not easily explain.
Their stories are presented directly, chronologically, and without turning historical testimony into fiction.
