The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony is a book written by Valentinus, also known as Basilus. It is a philosophical and alchemical treatise that explores the nature of the universe and the relationship between the spiritual and material worlds. The book is divided into three parts: the first part presents an allegorical journey through the seven stages of spiritual development, the second part discusses the principles of alchemy and the transmutation of metals, and the third part provides practical instructions for performing alchemical experiments. Throughout the book, Valentinus/Basilus draws on a variety of sources, including Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, and Christian mysticism, to present a comprehensive and complex worldview. The Triumphal Chariot of Antimony is considered a significant work in the history of alchemy and has influenced many subsequent alchemical texts.Biographical preface by A. E.
