A history of the creation of a monument in the village of Silverdale.

How is it that Silverdale, a village in North Staffordshire, has a 'Tribute to Mining' which is more elaborate than those in any other pit village in the area or even further afield?

Basically, because I felt that there was a story worthy to be told and waiting to be told about why the village of Silverdale developed in this particular spot. Once the mine closed, it was clear that there would be little left to tell of the origins of the village.
