A self-taught musician with an ear shaped by instinct and a spirit shaped by perseverance, Hill's musical journey began long before he ever studied an note. But when he moved from Chicago to Los Angeles in 1969, everything change. What started as a raw talent quickly evolved into a remarkable professional career that carried him across the country-- and around the globe. Hill's story unfolds through unforgettable performances at the historic Pantages Theatre, The Great White Hope (film and soundtrack) Lady Sings The Blues (film and soundtrack), and dazzling residencies such as Siegfried & Roy in Las Vegas, the C.E.T.A Resident Orchestra in Los Angeles and more than a decade of music-making inside Disneyland most beloved venues.
Along the way, Hill collaborated with some of the most extraordinary musicians of their generation, playing-- and truly living-some of the most beautiful songs, ever written. His memoir is not only a celebration of music but a testament to dedication, curiousity, faith, and the doors that open when you dare to follow the melody of your life.
With heartfelt acknowledgement to fellow writer and graghic artist Lonnie C. Fuller for unwavering encouragement and creative insight. This story stands as a tribute to a lifetime off sound, soul and artistry.
