Welcome to sentient art: at least the beginnings of it. Taking images from their enormous data bases while recognizing and combining images that are one of a kind. Typing in a few words; sure, that will work but this book shows how to add additional words and commands. Giving the image more beauty and complexity.
The prompt;
A prompt is the string of words that one enters to inform the engine what to imagine for you. A tree by a lake for example, would work just fine. But consider the prompt used for this book's cover:

The name unreal engine suggests a virtual world look popular in 4K video games.
The command -wallpaper makes the image in a wider aspect ratio rather that square.
