Tract Number Ninety is a book written by John Henry Newman in 1865. It is a collection of remarks on certain passages in the Thirty-Nine Articles, which are the fundamental statements of doctrine of the Church of England. Newman, a prominent Anglican theologian, wrote the book as a defense of his views on the Articles, which had caused controversy and led to his resignation from the Church of England. In the book, Newman argues that the Articles can be interpreted in a way that is compatible with Catholic doctrine, and that the Church of England can be seen as a part of the universal Church. The book was highly controversial at the time of its publication, and led to further debates about the relationship between Anglicanism and Catholicism. Today, it is considered a landmark work in the history of Anglican theology and an important contribution to the ongoing dialogue between Anglicans and Catholics. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
