Tiny loves being with Tower, and Tower loves being with Tiny. They share many happy, silly days together. They wish they could have more. But Tower's body is getting ready to stop working; soon he will die. Where will Tower go when he dies? Tiny finds the words to explain in a way that comforts them both.

Tower in the Stars/Torre en las estrellas hopes to help even the youngest of readers cope with the loss of an adult family member, caregiver, or close friend.

This bilingual picture book presents death with an openness that allows readers to discuss their own beliefs.

Readers Can Personalize

  • Charmingly illustrated main characters Tiny and Tower are gender neutral looking dogs (the characters are written as males; readers may substitute female pronouns)
  • Tiny is younger than Tower, while Tower's ambiguous age allows Tower to be a grandparent, great-grandparent, uncle, aunt, great-grandparent, older sibling, father, or friend.
