Torchbearers of Spiritualism is a book written by Mrs. St. Clair Stobart that explores the history and development of the Spiritualism movement in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the beliefs, practices, and key figures of Spiritualism, including its origins in the United States and its spread throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Mrs. Stobart also examines the controversies and criticisms that surrounded Spiritualism, particularly its claims of communication with the dead, and offers her own perspective on the movement's significance and relevance to modern society. Through detailed research and analysis, Torchbearers of Spiritualism offers readers a fascinating and informative insight into one of the most intriguing and influential spiritual movements of the modern era.1926. The author demonstrates her thesis that throughout time revelation has come to many persons, not simply teachers, saints and prophets mentioned in the Bible. She tells stories of the lives of 21 of the world's greatest teachers, including such persons as Voluspa, Rama, Buddha, Krishna, Hermes, Socrates, Joan of Arc, Plato, Pythagoras, Mohammed, and many others. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
