What happens when MY WAY stops being fun?
A story about frustration, sharing, and teamwork. Tom has a big idea. He wants to build the best explorer adventure tent ever with his little brother-his way! But when friends come along and want to help, the tent starts to look less and less like his vision. Finally...STOP! The friends all leave, and Tom and Adam are alone. Somehow, his vision seems less exciting now. Can Tom find a way to fix things?
5 short chapters. 29 pages. Pictures on every page. Perfect for ages 5 - 8 who have outgrown picture books but aren't quite ready for long chapter books. Tom's Tent helps young children understand that everyone can feel frustrated sometimes. It can be hard to learn how to work together and adjust your vision for the benefit of having fun with friends. Tom learns how to say sorry and that working and playing together with friends is FUN!
Ideal for Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade, bedtime read-alouds; and classroom SEL lessons.
