It's not just a story. Hell, it's not a story at all. It's about life.To the Universe, with Love. consists of 15 individual letters written by the author to the Universe. Each letter is a standalone piece. The story surrounds the various love interests of the author. A few letters are about Cindy & Tim. Tim is a pseudonym for the author and Cindy is a pseudonym for the name of the girl with whom the author had the most tragically beautiful relationship. Cindy & Tim are the names they created which would reflect the perfect couple they could have been. They use these names to escape the reality of being themselves and being reminded of why their relationship will never work. Cindy finds herself in love with the author, a queer Jamaican girl; their society isn't ready for their love and neither is Cindy.
