A brand-new door. A fluttery tummy. One brave little cat.
Tomorrow is Tig's first day of school-and his red backpack is much more ready than he is.
What if he doesn't know what to do? What if saying goodbye feels too hard? With Dad's reassuring promise and one slow breath at a time, Tig steps through the big blue doors.
Inside, Tig discovers his friend Max, meets Zebra and Penguin, builds something enormous, asks Mrs. Owl for help, and even tries something new. Before long, his first-day worries begin turning into confidence, laughter, and happy zoomies.
Tig's First Day of School is a warm, reassuring picture book that helps preschoolers understand that courage doesn't mean never feeling nervous. Sometimes courage is one breath, one question, one small step, and one new friend.
Perfect for:
- Children ages 3-5 preparing for preschool or kindergarten
- First-day worries and separation anxiety
- Building confidence and emotional resilience
- Learning to ask teachers for help
- Making new friends and handling unfamiliar experiences
- Back-to-school reading at home or in the classroom
A comforting first-day story for children, parents, caregivers, and preschool teachers.
