Through One Hundred And Fifty Years: The University Of Pittsburgh by Agnes Lynch Starrett is a comprehensive history of the University of Pittsburgh from its founding in 1787 to its 150th anniversary in 1937. The book covers the university's early years as the Pittsburgh Academy, its transformation into the Western University of Pennsylvania, and its eventual evolution into the University of Pittsburgh. Starrett details the university's growth and development, including its expansion into new academic disciplines and the construction of new buildings and facilities. The book also explores the contributions of notable faculty and alumni, including Andrew Carnegie, Jonas Salk, and Mary Cassatt. With extensive research and a wealth of archival photographs, Through One Hundred And Fifty Years provides a fascinating look at the history of one of America's most distinguished universities. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
