We are told, again and again, that this is not the time for art. There are more pressing things - work, screens, schedules, the next thing on the list. Art is something to make space for later, if at all.

This wordless picture book argues the opposite, in pictures alone. Five-year-old Miro walks out of his quiet, distracted apartment into a vast gray city. One by one he meets the artists who live there - a bucket drummer, a muralist, a dancer, a guitarist - and each one breaks the gray with a single burst of color. By the time Miro returns home and picks up his own crayon, he has understood what so many of us have forgotten: art is not a luxury the world makes space for. Art is what opens the mind. Art is what lets us see.
