Littlejohn writes in a voice that is conversational, blunt, and often confrontational, refusing to soften hard truths for the sake of comfort. There is humor here too, and tenderness, and moments of clarity that only come from looking back on where you've been. This is poetry written not for the classroom but for the reader who has lived through something and needs to see it named.
