Therefore Stand: A Plea For A Vigorous Apologetic In The Present Crisis Of Evangelical Christianity by Wilbur Moorehead Smith is a book that explores the current state of evangelical Christianity and offers a call to action for believers to engage in a more robust and effective defense of their faith. The author contends that there is a crisis within the evangelical community, with many believers lacking a clear understanding of their beliefs and failing to effectively communicate them to others. Smith argues that this crisis is due in part to a lack of emphasis on apologetics, the branch of theology that deals with the defense of the faith. He suggests that Christians need to be equipped with a strong apologetic foundation in order to effectively engage with the secular world and defend their beliefs against attacks. The book is divided into three parts. In the first part, Smith provides an overview of the crisis facing evangelical Christianity and the role of apologetics in addressing it. In the second part, he examines the biblical basis for apologetics and provides practical guidance for Christians seeking to engage in apologetics. In the final part, Smith offers a vision for the future of evangelical Christianity, emphasizing the importance of a renewed commitment to apologetics and a more holistic approach to evangelism. Overall, Therefore Stand is a thought-provoking and challenging book that encourages Christians to take a more active role in defending their faith. It is well-suited for anyone interested in apologetics, evangelism, or the current state of evangelical Christianity. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
