Growing up in the East End of the 1950s was no walk in the park and it wasn't until I stumbled upon the magic of music and cinema that I realised there was an amazing world extending far beyond the confines of my imagination. In 1969, fate handed me a golden ticket; a job as a tea boy at Pye Studios. Little did I know, this marked the beginning of a remarkable 40 year adventure in the music business. I crisscrossed the globe, recording some of the greatest artists of the time, rubbing shoulders with my idols, working with legends like The Who, Jimi Hendrix and ELO. Forming bonds with recording artists and movie stars such as Bill Haley, Peter Green, James Garner and Anthony Newley. The stories, laughter and occasional disasters are all captured here, straight from the pages of my diaries. Discover: - Which major record company executive warned me of Jimi Hendrix's impending murder
- The time Bill Haley intervened to save Chuck Berry's life
- How I ended having a pint in a pub with a grizzly bear who sold 250,000 singles
- The singing waiter who defied the odds to become one of the biggest artists in history
- The role played by John and Yoko in naming the band Hot Chocolate
- The challenges of producing an album with the legendary guitarist Peter Green
- How James Garner unknowingly bought me breakfast
- Why Bing Crosby made the most heart-warming phone calls I've ever heard
- What Fred Astaire's mother thought of his singing voice
- The remarkable story of the spy catcher in a real-life 'Sting' inspired by the movie
- My close friendship with Tony Newley and the true identity of Anthony Newley Dive into the adventures that shaped my life and find out why they all say There Ain't No Rules in Rock 'n' Roll Kenny Denton
