Thank You for the Fire is my story of love, heartbreak, and growth. It's about the men who helped shape different versions of me - even if I've hidden all of our real identities behind playful superhero-and-villain-style codenames, a private joke that still makes me smile.
The book contains five significant relationships in my life - from teenage intensity to adult complexity. Some of these men brought passion and excitement. Some brought stability. Some brought chaos. All of them left something behind.
This story is not about revenge. It is not a glorified romance either. It is an honest reflection of who I was in those moments - insecure, brave, reckless, loving, guarded, hopeful. I write about motherhood, working in environments that tested my confidence, living abroad, coming home, and learning how much of myself I was willing to give away.
Each chapter focuses on a different chapter of my life and the version of me that existed then. At the end, I write a letter to all five men - in the hopes of finding closure. There is gratitude in it. There is sarcasm in it. There is truth in it.
This book is about fire - the kind that warms you, the kind that burns you, and the kind that forces you to rebuild.
It is about looking back without shame and moving forward without bitterness.
