Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components enable developers to use and integrate third-party components (and/or softwares) into their own products. Rather than building all the software components from scratch, developers purchase proven functions from third-party vendors and combine them with original material to create a final product, which saves time and money. This book covers all related aspects: from testing components in a context-independent manner through testing components in the context of a specific system to testing complete systems built from different components.
