Terence's Comedies, Made English: With His Life And Some Remarks is a book that was originally written by Terentius Publius in Latin and translated into English in 1733. The book is a collection of six plays, or comedies, written by Terence during the Roman Republic. The plays are Andria, Hecyra, Eunuchus, Phormio, Adelphi, and Heauton Timorumenos. In addition to the plays, the book also includes a biography of Terence, which provides insight into his life and career as a playwright. The biography discusses his upbringing as a slave, his education, and his eventual rise to fame as a writer. The book also includes some remarks on Terence's works, which offer commentary and analysis on the themes, characters, and plotlines of the plays. These remarks provide readers with a deeper understanding of the plays and their significance in the context of ancient Roman literature. Overall, Terence's Comedies, Made English: With His Life And Some Remarks is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the works of Terence or the history of Roman comedy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
