Originally published in 1954, as one of a post-war series on the teaching of the main subjects in the secondary school curriculum, this book dispenses advice to teachers on how to teach classics to all school levels. Chapters are broad in scope and cover the teaching of classics to junior schools, secondary schools and sixth forms, as well as subjects such as 'Teaching methods', 'Examinations' and 'Aids to the teaching of classics'. The book also suggests multiple ideas for lessons. Appendices are included for reference. This book will be of great value to scholars of the history of education.
