Tales of Ig is a collection of poems about-and partially by-an entity named Ig, who asks, alongside a guarded poetic speaker, what it takes to stand on solid ground within an unstable subjectivity. These are dialogues, soliloquies and bargainings where other creatures also emerge: Grandmothers; Snakes; movie directors; foxes; mice, and talking pens. Ig is first met on the staging ground of altered consciousness, only to affirm herself as having been intimately present, all along. Possessing and infiltrating a broken pantoum or a lyric poem, Ig insists on her claim: to be heard, despite the deafening estrangement between speaker and subject.
