In the quiet town of Lake Havasu, Arizona, the newest home of the London Bridge, seven young physicists and one mature physicist meet to review their work on the decontamination of nuclear waste. Two of the group die close to the London Bridge and the robust Ranger David Parish is assigned to find the cause of the deaths. The eccentric group of scientists has to deal with a major desert storm, a medley of snakes, a large swarm of butterflies, an infestation of ladybugs on a paddlewheel boat and the possibility of two more deaths among the scientific group. The killer has baffled the FBI, the local police and the rangers at Lake Havasu. Ranger Parish is given one last chance to find the killer with only the assistance of the hatching of hundreds of dragonflies, or all of them could die.
