At the moment of this writing, I've been a Christian for 71 years. During that span, I've been every kind of Christian there is. When I was 6 years old I was thrilled to hear of Jesus Christ and told everyone about Him. When that phase passed, I became well practiced at asking Him for things-at first on a daily basis, then later, only occasionally.
It wasn't until after marrying and having two children that a crisis came my way and I cried out to God for real. Our second child, a daughter, was born with brain damage. Months of testing and years of observing, climaxed in the recommendation of institutionalizing her.
When I began to experience miracles as a direct result of prayer, I knew I needed to write about it. What I once did as an eager 6 year old-telling everyone how amazing and real God is, I'm now doing again. But, this time I'm simply telling our story. Actually this is God's story in our life. How He guided me through one predicament after another is unexplainable except to say He is truly, literally, who He says He is.
The guidebook that follows clearly lays out how to read the Bible in order to get to know God in a personal, relational way. The guidebook then shows the reader the progression from recognizing God's answers to our prayers, to sitting and conversing with Him. That's the sole purpose of this unvarnished, unfiltered telling of God's Presence in our lives. He wants to be as big, and real, and wonderful to you as He was...and is, to me.
