Joe Leary was born in Boston, grew up in Franklin, Massachusetts, and still lives there. He has written for pleasure all his life. He has published articles and book chapters in the field of dental implantology. He started writing poetry in 2017. His first book of poetry was 'til the well runs dry (Kelsay Books, 2024).
His non-literary experience includes service as a Marine, an FBI agent, Periodontist, teacher, and parent; and other important experience as a grocery clerk, floor washer, mill worker, hospital attendant, pathology lab worker, and more. With such varied life experience, you can imagine he comes with a rich source of material for his work.
Themes of this work are wide ranging: humor, family relationships, self-knowledge, and the beauty of nature.
