Soul Look Back in Wonder is a novel set in the sixties and seventies and covers a decade in the life of Diane Pearson. This coming-of-age story begins in August 1965 in a small town in Virginia during the Pearson family's annual summer vacation. On the trip 17-year-old Diane meets a boy she immediately falls for. When the two take an evening ride they are pulled over on a long, dark country road. During the stop, Diane experiences an event that will change the trajectory of her life. She returns home to Baltimore with a heavy secret and looks for a way forward. She begins to find purpose for her life in the student civil rights movement. She also meets Stephen Gardner, a young student leader and a junior at Morgan State College. Follow their love story as they build a life together while helping to fuel a movement that will change the world.
