Songs inspire a melody of emotional responses. They conjure up memories of otherwise forgotten times, and moods swing from light to dark with their rhythm. Their lyrics evoke response, from being lost in that single moment to simply singing in the shower. This collection of stories inspired by songs has been created by WordPlay Writers' Forum, with its creation inspired and conducted by Maggie Chapman. You'll find some of the stories stick to their song's conventional tale, while others go way off the beaten track. Some draw on personal experiences, transporting their reader to a place of reverie and laughter, or simply persuade a subconscious moment deep in thoughts of what might have been. Come inside and lose yourself in the harmony between the written word and the song, and rediscover all of your would haves, could haves, and should haves.
