Slovenly Peter is a classic children's book originally published in German in 1845. The book is a collection of cautionary tales, each one intended to teach children a moral lesson. The tales are told in rhyme and feature a cast of mischievous characters, including the titular Slovenly Peter, who is constantly dirty and disheveled. Other characters include Fidgety Phil, who can't sit still, and Harriet, who plays with matches and sets herself on fire. The stories are humorous and entertaining, but also contain important messages about good behavior and the consequences of bad choices. This 1918 edition of the book features charming illustrations by Heinrich Hoffmann, the original author. Slovenly Peter remains a beloved classic of children's literature and continues to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. This Is A New Release Of The Original 1918 Edition. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
