MY SISTER MY FRIEND My girlfriend was my inspiration in writing this book. Unknowingly to her she gave me much of my material. Some about her. Some about her girlfriend. For starters we work for the same company. People are always coming up to her asking if she has a sister that works here; or telling her she has a twin working in another department. I also have people telling me we look alike. That we could pass for sisters. That's how I came up with the title Sister Girlfriend. Anyway, the stories she would tell really bothered me to the point I felt compelled to write. I thought if I could write her words down, have her see and read it on paper, then maybe she' d recognize herself; as if the words she were reading was like looking into a mirror. Letting her know she's not alone. That there are others like her going through the same emotions. And just hoping and praying that she' d do something about her situation. It's not my intent to slam anyone, but to only encourage and strengthen the soul. I'm sure many women will relate to my poems, whether it's about themselves or someone they know. My hope is that everyone who reads this book will recognize themselves and move forward and not backwards. Realizing life is too short to be unhappy. To like and always love yourself, and just appreciate life. Bottom line, my goal is to encourage the sisters of the world. Marshell Lambright
