Deacon Nick (secular Franciscan of the precious blood) established the servants of the Lord healing community, comprised of the laity and religious both men and women. They follow the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, devoted to the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Deacon Nick was ordained May 8, 1983 as a permanent deacon in the holy Roman Catholic Church. He is married and has two children. Besides his normal duties as husband and father, the ministers in his parish (our Lady of Mount caramel) in Yonkers, New York. He is the spiritual director of the parish youth group, he chaired the leadership of the parish prayer group, and he established a third order Franciscan community in the parish, which later was established as a fraternity. Deacon Nick was chairman of the Yonkers conference of permanent deacons and was instrumental in bringing over 208th graders from the Yonkers Catholic Schools for an evening retreat with the National Evangelization Team. In conjunction with his family and parish duties, was a full time Catholic chaplain for the state of New York Department of Corrections. He retired in 2005 from the State and became employed by the Westchester County Prison system as Chaplain. Once again he is in retirement because of health problems.
