SERVICE CEILING - BOOK ONE OF THE CLEARANCE TRILOGY
Nyla Davenport has spent most of her life carrying people who should've learned how to carry themselves.
Between a mother who expects her daughters to keep the house running, siblings with problems of their own, a job that barely stretches to payday, and her dead father's mess that refuses to stay buried, Nyla doesn't have much left that belongs only to her.
Except the sky.
Becoming a pilot isn't a dream she's waiting for someone to fund, approve, or understand. She's earning it one flight lesson, one exam, and one exhausted morning at a time. No matter how tight money gets or how much her family needs, Nyla refuses to give that up.
Then Quincy Callaway notices her.
He belongs to a side of Chicago Nyla knows better than to get too comfortable around, and Quincy has enough of his own complications without adding a woman who questions everything and isn't impressed by much. Neither of them is looking for what begins growing between them, but Chicago has a way of making strangers familiar and separate worlds smaller than they appear.
While Nyla fights for the life she's trying to build, the one she already has starts shifting beneath her.
Service Ceiling is Book One of The Clearance Trilogy, a contemporary Chicago romantic suspense novel with family drama, slow-burn romance, and an unfolding speculative mystery.
