The Selected Poems of this collection (in Persian) have certainly been influenced by a few simple but overwhelmingly strong passions of mine, which have governed my life: 1) the longing for love, 2) the search for wisdom, 3) the disdain for violence and militarism, 4) the disgust for environmental degradation, and finally 5) my unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. And that is generally why I read, write, search, and research and hope that perhaps, in the fleeting moment called existence, maybe I can (through my writings) make a small contribution to the improvement of life and perhaps to the refinement of some minds. Most of the poems of this book have a dual theme to them: Love and Protest against the Structure of this World.
